To provide a coaxial waveguide converter adopting the structure in which the inserted length of a coupling pin into a waveguide can accurately be made to match even when the size of the waveguide is small at a high frequency band such as a 30GHz band and a high performance coupling characteristic can be obtained and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.
The coaxial converter is structured by fixing a coaxial coupling part 3 to one wall face 21 of a rectangular waveguide 2. The coaxial coupling part 3 comprises: a shell 33 formed in such a way that the bottom face B of the shell is located so as to be flush with an inner face A of the one wall face 21 of the rectangular waveguide 2 or located a prescribed distance away from the inner face A when the coaxial coupling part 3 is inserted to the one wall face 21 of the waveguide 2; and a dielectric tube 32 and a coupling pin 31 that are inserted to a through-hole of the shell 33 in a way of forming a coaxial line wherein the shell 33 is used for an external conductor, the coupling pin 31 is formed so that its one end is projected from a bottom face of the shell 33 by a prescribed length and the other end is fixed to the shell 33.
