Abstract:
To recover cobalt at high purity from a liquid to be treated in which cobalt and impurity metals are dissolved.SOLUTION: The cobalt recovery method comprises: a step of adjusting the pH to 4 to 7, inclusive by alkali addition to a solution to be treated (step S3); a solid-liquid separation step for separating a precipitate containing of the crystal of the salt of the impurity metal precipitated in step S3 (step S4); a pH adjusting step of adjusting the pH to 7 or higher by alkali addition to the solution to be treated after step S4 (step S5); a solid-liquid separation step of solid-liquid separating the precipitate containing the crystal of the cobalt salt precipitated in step S5 (step S6); a step of dissolving the precipitate after the step S6 with inorganic acid (step S7-1); a step of adjusting the pH tp 4 to 7, inclusive by alkali addition to the re-dissolved liquid (step S7-2); a step of separating the precipitate which have been precipitated in step S7-2 and contain the crystal of the salt of the impurity metal into a supernatant and the slurry containing the precipitate by self weight or centrifugation (step s7-3); a step for adjusting the pH to 7 or higher by alkali addition to the re-dissolved liquid that is the supernatant after the step S7-3 (step S7-4); and a step of solid-liquid separating the precipitate containing a crystal of cobalt salt precipitated in the step S7-4 (step S7-5).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
