Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subscriber unit in a code division multiple access (CDMA) system for a spread spectrum communication system, which transmits and receives communication signals including information signals and connection-control signals via transmit and receive channels with first and second pilot code signals in order to enlarge a system capacity.SOLUTION: A CDMA modem comprises: a transmit section 1301; a receive section 1302; a control section 1303 which receives control messages CNTRL used for spread code assignment and spreading, or inverse spreading activation, transmission rate assignment, etc.; and a code generator 1304 for generation of a spread code and an inverse spread code. The receive section 1302 receives r(t). The transmit section 1301 transmits input information and a control signal mi(t) as a spread-spectrum processed user information signal scj(t). The transmit section 1301 receives a global pilot code from the code generator 1304. The spread-processed user information signals are added to other signals and transmitted as CDMA channels over a link.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
