Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately read perforation code data, even when a detection signal of dot data of perforation codes perforated in, for example, a rolled product of paper has noise or if the paper expands due to tension to vary subtly in perforation code interval.
SOLUTION: Even in the case that perforation code intervals vary slightly, pulses having pulse widths other than the pulse width (including a permissible) corresponding to a perforation diameter are removed as noise. In order to discriminate whisker noise among perforation code pulses, the perforation pitch from a 1st perforation code pulse is calculated with a permissible tolerance, and then it is decided whether there is a foreign material. Consequently, even if noise is included in the detection signal of the perforation code data or if the paper expands due to tension, etc., resulting in slight variation of perforation code interval, the perforation code data can be read accurately.
