A code lock device stores the unlocking code string by meshing each lock gear 31 with each dial 3 on a working shaft 4. An operating mechanism 110 capable of performing external operation for pressing a bushing 120 for slidably supporting the shaft end of the working shaft 4, toward the lock gear 31, includes a camshaft 113 having a pressing surface for moving all the lock gears 31 provided in line with the bushing 120, into a position where the mesh with each dial 3 is released by the external operation, and a pressing release surface for the release of pressing. The camshaft 113 is turnably supported in the case so that the pressing surface and the pressing release surface face the bushing 120. The base end of the camshaft 113 is provided with an operating part 111 for turning the camshaft 113 from the outside on the bottom plate part side.
