To enable an operation of a knob for locking to be performed without having an unlocking code row aligned.

This code lock device includes a reciprocation mechanism 5 which reciprocates a working shaft 4 by operating the working shaft 4 in response to the operation of the knob, and a lock mechanism 8 which disables the operation of the knob for unlocking when the row of codes of each dial 4 does not agree with the unlocking code row. The reciprocation mechanism 5 can execute a first reciprocating motion in which the working shaft 4 is displaced to a set position in response to the operation of the knob for unlocking, and execute a second reciprocating motion in which the working shaft 4 is not displaced to the set position in response to the operation of the knob for locking. The lock mechanism 8 enables the operation of the knob by allowing the second reciprocating motion of the working shaft 4 in response to the operation of the knob for locking, enables the operation of the knob by allowing the first reciprocating motion of the working shaft 4 when the unlocking code row is aligned in response to the operation of the knob for unlocking, and disables the operation of the knob by regulating the first reciprocating motion of the working shaft 4 when the unlocking code string is not aligned in response to the operation of the knob for unlocking.
