Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability of a light-passing type rotary encoder of a high resolution with a narrow pitch of light-passing windows, and enhance accuracy in various controls using the rotary encoder.
SOLUTION: Light-passing openings 15 and light-passing slits 16 of the same width (w) are formed via a constant pitch (p) at the outermost circumferential part of an opaque disk 10, thereby to obtain light detection windows for detecting a rotating angle, a rotating direction and a rotating speed, etc., of a driving shaft. The long light-passing openings 15 are formed radially slightly inward from an outer circumferential edge of the opaque disk. The notch-like light-passing slits 16 extending inwardly from the outer circumferential edge of the opaque disk are radially formed between the light-passing openings 15. Inner ends of the light-passing openings 15 and light-passing slits 16 are aligned on a constant radius R2 from a rotating center O of the code plate. A photointerrupter 19 is set at a central position of light-passing openings 15 (position of a radius R3 from the rotating center O).
