PURPOSE: To supply separate bit number information and restore correct codes by multiplying marker signals and transmitting voice data after converting codes so as not to allow emerging of the pattern code equal to marker.
CONSTITUTION: The type of transmission code consists of the voice data 100, 100' and 100", bit number 101, 101' and 101" and marker signal 102, 102' and 102" used for detecting the bit number information and since there is a bit number information immediately after the marker signal is detected, the proper code can be restored when the bit number information is detected. However, a pattern equal to marker signal may sometimes emerge in the voice data. To solve this problem, adjustment should be so made that there should be one or more "0" in the code after compression, that is, it should be so adjusted that when MSD (bit indicating positive or negative of sample with the largest absolute value in the block) is "0", this condition is always satisfactory, but the voice data 104 is indicated by 105 only when MSD of output voice data of compression circuit is "1".
