These coffee and coffee beverage comprise an extracted solution of seed of Coffea arabica as an essential component and contain furan, its derivative, an aldehyde group-containing compound and a ketone group- containing compound as a fragrance component. The transpiration amounts of the fragrance component of the coffee and the coffee beverage under a specific condition shown hereinafter are ≥1.3 times the transpiration amounts of a fragrance component from coffee or a coffee beverage comprising an extracted solution of seed of Coffea arabica by hot water or warm water extraction under the same specific condition. The specific condition is a condition under which an extracted solution is diluted into Brix 1.0, sterilized at 115°C for 20 minutes, stored at a normal temperature for one week, 10 g of the stored solution and 1 ppm of allyl propionate are added to a two-neck flask, dissolved, air in the flask is purged by 50 ml per minute of a nitrogen gas for 4 minutes while being kept at 30°C to collect the fragrance component.
