This device is provided with a rough grinding machine 2 where roasted coffee beans C are roughly ground by a pair of coffee grinder 5 so as to generate granular materials consisting of coffee granules cg and chaffs ch with largeness easily abandoned, a tight sieve 8 sieving the granular materials supplied from the rough grinding machine 2 into the coffee granules cg and the chaffs ch and a negative pressure discharge device 26 which suchs the sieved chaffs ch and stores them in a chaff tank 28. In this case, work process for grinding the coffee beans C is divided into two stages, rough grinding and fine grinding. The chaffs ch are removed in a stage where they are not finely ground so that the chaffs ch are surely and easily removed.
