Plural kinds of specifications concerning the shape, the material quality, ornament and coloring are set by every member of a base plate, a side plate and a cover of a coffin, and specific specifications are selected to assemble the selected members into a coffin. For example, a funeral service is performed using a coffin 1, the side plates 3-6 and the cover 7 of which are made of a transparent synthetic resin, and after the funeral service, the synthetic resin-made members are replaced by wooden members to form a coffin for cremation.
