To reverse the opening method of an upper lid to the left or the right in a simple operation without detaching a hinge even after the coffining.
This coffin 10 with the reversing lid 10 includes a lower box 12 and the upper lid 13. The upper lid 13 is openably/closably attached to either one side of the left or the right of the lower box 12 by the hinge 16. The lower box 12 is formed by mounting a frame body 12A on an opening end of the lower box body 12A. The hinge 16 capable of opening/closing the upper lid 12 is attached to either one side of the left/right of the frame body 12A. The opening shape of the frame body 12A is so formed that the frame body 12B is reversed to the left/right and mounted on the opening end of the lower box body 12A. The upper lid 13 is divided into a front lid 13A and a rear lid 13R at an intermediate position in its length direction, and the front lid 13A and the rear lid 13B are preferably formed into a front/rear symmetric external shape using an intermediate position in the length direction as a boundary.
