The coffin 10 comprises a box-like coffin body 11, a bottom plate 12 to be placed on a bottom part in the coffin body 11, and a lid body 13 to cover an opening of the coffin body 11, and a plurality of holding holes 14 in which hands can be inserted are formed in both ends of the bottom plate 12. The bottom plate 12 comprises a plurality of plates 15 and 16 which can be divided/connected by engagement portions 15a and 16a formed in its longitudinal direction, and a fixing member 17 of U-shaped section which is attachable/ detachable to/from both ends of the plates 15 and 16 connected to each other via the engagement portions 15a and 16a.
