To provide a coherent light source device and a projector avoiding a problem of deterioration of uniformity of light projected by speckle inevitably appeared when a semiconductor laser or other laser lights or coherent light generated by changing wavelength of the laser light is projected.
This system has a light radiation area formed by a coherent light source and light mixing means for mixing angle component and positional component of light beam of flux of light beams from the light radiation area inputted at its incident end and radiating it from a radiating end. The light mixing means is a wave guide for enclosing light in a space enclosed by light reflecting side surfaces to transmit light from the incident end to the radiating end, the light reflecting side surfaces include at least one surface that is not a square as seen in its top plan view and include one having no relation with a similar parallel displacement in respect to a shape of the radiation end in the section of the light reflection side surface perpendicular to an axis set to an entire transmittance direction of light in the light mixing means.
