Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil component in which the coating thickness of an outer packaging section hardly becomes uneven over the whole periphery of a coil section and which is suppressed in characteristic variation, and to provide a method of manufacturing the component.
SOLUTION: This coil component is provided with the coil section 2 having an air core 1, the outer packaging section 3 including the coil section 2 and composed of a magnetic material, and terminals 4 which are connected to the coil section 2 and, at the same time, extruded outward from the packaging section 3. The packaging section 3 is formed by again press-molding one green compact 5 which is obtained by mixing a binding agent containing a thermosetting resin with magnetic powder so that the thermosetting resin may not be thermoset and press-molding the mixture so as to cover the coil section 2 and, at the same time, so as to thermoset the thermosetting resin.
