Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil component in which short circuit and exfoliation of top plate are less likely to occur.SOLUTION: A coil component includes a drum core 20, a wire W wound around the wrapping core 21 of the drum core 20, terminal electrodes E1-E4 provided, respectively, at the flanges 22, 23 of the drum core 20, and connected with the ends of the wire W, and a top plate 30 fixed to the flanges 22, 23. The top plate 30 includes a magnetic layer 31 formed by mixing magnetic powder with binder resin, and a resin layer 32 containing less magnetic powder than the magnetic layer 31, where the resin layer 32 is at least located between the flanges 22, 23 and the magnetic layer 31. With such an arrangement, short circuit can be prevented between the magnetic layer 31 and the terminal electrodes E1-E4 or the wire W. Exfoliation of the top plate 30 due to temperature change can also be prevented. Furthermore, mechanical strength of the top plate 30 can be improved by the resin layer 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
