This coil turning device is provided between a conveyance conveyor 2 for conveying a coil C in an up end condition and a coil conveyance carrier 3 standing by at a position where the coil C in a down end condition is transferred. A support mechanism 1 having a coil support means in which an up end face 1a supporting the coil C in the up end condition and having a predetermined angle and a down end face 1b supporting the coil in the down end condition and having a predetermined angle are formed adjacent to each other and a tilting and turning means for tilting and turning the coil support means forward and backward to bring the coil C from the up end condition into the down end condition or from the down end condition into the up end condition is provided with an advance and retraction means for letting the coil support means advance, retract, and move in the direction of the coil conveyance carrier 3 which stands by at the coil C transfer position.
