Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a coiled spring made from an aluminum alloy of light weight and high strength, in a good yield.

The method for manufacturing the coiled spring made from the aluminum alloy comprises, a wire rod forming process for forming the wire rod from aluminum alloy powder, a warm coiling process for warm coiling the wire rod, a solution heat-treatment process for applying the solution treatment to the obtained coil, a hardening process for quenching and hardening the solution treated coil, and an aging process for aging the coil after the hardening process. The warm coiling can prevent breakage during coiling no matter what the spring index is, and can improve fatigue resistance by the subsequent heat treatment.
