To prevent that a coin is made to fall into a coin storage part when a coin jam occurs in a coin depositing/dispensing device.
This coin depositing/dispensing device has a denomination distinction part on a coin passage 81 through which the coin C input to a coin input port is conveyed. The coin arriving at a termination area of the coin passage 81 is selected by denominations from a coin selection hole 10 formed in a coin selection part 83, and thereafter falls. The falling coin C is detected by a detection part 87 provided by the denominations, and thereafter is stored in the coin storage part by the denominations. The coin depositing/dispensing device has an interference mechanism displacing an interference body between a fall prevention position wherein the fall of the coin C from the coin selection hole 10 is restricted and an evacuation position wherein the fall of the coin C is permitted by drive of a drive source. When the detection part 87 does not detect the coin C of the distinguished denomination within a prescribed time after a denomination distinction part distinguishes the denomination of the coin C, the interference body 89 is positioned in the fall prevention position from the evacuation position by the drive of the drive source.
