To provide a coin detector that can mechanically detect the storage of a predetermined amount of coins even if multiple kinds of coins and can detect the predetermined amount of coins even without a lot of single kind of coins, and to provide a coin type locking device capable of locking or unlocking thereof by key operation.
The coin detector includes at least two coin storage means 210, 220 corresponding to at least two kinds of coins dispensed, respectively, and arranges and stores at least two kinds of coins dispensed for every kind. A plurality of combined coin detecting means 423, 432 are arranged, respectively, at the part of the coin storage means where a predetermined amount of coins are stored, respectively, which are achieved by at least one combination of at least two kinds of coins stored in the coin storage means, and are operated by the coins stored in the part, respectively. The plurality of combined coin detecting means of the part of the coin storage means where the predetermined amount of coins are stored are operated simultaneously, thereby detecting that the predetermined amount of coins are stored by the combination of two or more kinds of coins.
