To control behavior of coins being transported by coin receptacles of a transportation rotary disc and improve accuracy to differentiate the coins.
A coin handling apparatus comprises a transportation roller 10 that transports coins put in a coin slot one by one, a cylindrical wall 14 on which an opening is formed through which the coins transported by the transportation roller 10 passes, a transportation rotary disc 16 rotatably arranged in the wall 14 and having coin receptacles 17 formed thereon to receive the coins passed through the opening, a transportation guide bottom surface 15 that slidably supports bottom surfaces of the coins inserted in the coin receptacle 17 and transported along with a rotation of the transportation rotary disc 16, a differentiation unit 25 including magnetic sensors (251, 252, and 253) arranged over a rotation locus of the coin receptacles 17 of the transportation rotary disc 16, and a coin floating prevention members 29 projecting into the coin receptacles 17 toward the transportation guide bottom surface 15 from above the rotation locus of the coin receptacles 17.
