Abstract:
To identify a coin using a characteristic shape formed on a side surface of the coin.SOLUTION: A coin identification device includes: a first image sensor 23 that acquires a circular image of one or both of a front surface image and a rear surface image of a coin C; a second image sensor 24 that acquires a side image of the coin C; and an identification unit 50 that identifies a type of the coin C using the circular image, and determines whether a characteristic shape formed at a predetermined angular position on the side surface of the specified coin for which the type has been specified is present at a predetermined angular position of the side image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
