To provide a coin processor for preventing coins and false coins from being erroneously fallen into coin storages differing in denomination even when performing recovery work by opening a coin conveyance path and by forcibly conveying coins on the conveyance path.

Shutters 17 shutting fall paths of coins from coin sorting gates 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d on a coin conveyance path 3 up to coin storages 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d is disposed on a lower face of the path 3, and the shutters 17 are shut by releasing excitation of a pull-type electromagnetic solenoid 23 in stand-by and in an occurrence of abnormality of a coin processor 1. Thereby, the processor 1 prevents a failure in which the coins and false coins from being erroneously fallen into the coin storages differing in denomination in an event including the case where continuation itself of a processing operation by a control unit is disabled (in electric power failure, etc.).
