Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a foreign object smaller than a coin.SOLUTION: A medium detector includes a conveyance path 200 with conveyance path plates 111, 112 facing vertically each other, and optical sensors 180a, 180b provided on the conveyance path plates 111, 112 to detect a non-translucent medium (coin, paper object, plastic object) passing through the conveyance path. The lower conveyance path plate 112 has a hole 300 through which irradiation light from a light emitter 180b of the optical sensors. The hole is smaller than a diameter of a coin and larger than a transparent sealing member of the optical sensor 180b.
