To provide a coin processor for performing denomination-based sorting and storage of coins and dispensing of change, which can regularly perform correct dispensing of change, when erroneous sorting at sorting storage, without needing abnormality restoration operation, and also without needing restoration operation when clogging occurs.
This processor comprises a temporary storage 4 for temporarily storing coins put in through an input part 1; a sorting part 6 for sorting the coins by denominations, followed by counting; a storage part 7 for storing the coins sorted by denomination to respective storages; a dispensing and carrying part 8 for carrying coins dispensed from the storage part 7; a dispensing switching gate 9 for switching the coins dispensed from the storage part 7 to be delivered to a dispensing tray 10 or to be carried to the temporary storage 4; and dispensing identification parts 14a-14f for discriminating that the coins dispensed from each storage 7a-7f of the storage part 7 are of respective denominations.
