Title:
COIN SELECTION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3456857
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coin selection device which can be simplified and made low-cost by using one photo sensor to detect which of denomination-classified storage parts is filled up.
SOLUTION: If some denomination-classified 112 is filled up and photo sensors S21 and S22 whose optical axes pass in this storage part 112 along the direction of arrangement of denomination-classified storage parts 112 are screened from light to detect the filled-up state, a proportion of the number of currently stored bank notes to an allowable maximum number of bank notes is obtained for each denomination-classified storage part 112 by the function of a full detection part of a control part, and it is judged that the denomination-classified storage part 112 where this proportion is largest is filled up. Consequently, photo sensors S21 and S22 are used in an upper storage part 121 and a lower storage part 141 of each denomination-classified storage part 112 respectively to detect which of denomination-classified storage parts 112 is in the filled-up state. Further, it is detected also that any denomination classified storage parts are not filled up but abnormality occurs.
