PURPOSE: To select regular coins and irregular coins, to select five types of regular coins for each denomination and to obtain a compact coin selector with the small number of parts by using three solenoid plungers.

CONSTITUTION: A solenoid plunger 40 is provided to operate a lever 7, to distrib ute put-in coins to the regular coins and irregular coins and to separately guide them to respectively separate coin paths based on the coin regularity/irregularity decision signal of an electric coin discriminating means, and a solenoid plunger 41 is provided to operate a lever 11, to divide the five types of respective coins considered as regular into a coin A and a coin group excepting for the coin A and to separately guide them to respective separate coin paths based on the denomination decision signal of a coin discriminating means. Further, a solenoid plunger 42 is provided to operate a lever 12 based on the denomination decision signal, to distribute the coin group excepting for the coin A into the group of coins B and C and the group of coins D and E and to separately guide them to coin paths equipped with rail type coin selecting means to distrib ute two types of coins respectively according to the difference of diameters. Thus, the number of solenoid plungers to be used is reduced.
