To provide a coin sorting device capable of preventing a downstream part in the conveying direction with respect to a central position of a coin from floating up on a sorting hole, and surely dropping the coin in the corresponding sorting hole.
A pressing point P to the coin by a pressing mechanism 64 for applying the pressing force to the conveyed coin C is determined on a position close to the downstream side in the coin conveying direction with respect to a center Z of each sorting hole 10 (for example, a position with W/2 from downstream end part in conveying direction of sorting hole 10). Whereby the downstream part in the conveying direction with respect to the central position, of the coin C can be surely pressed even when a conveying speed of the coin C is high, the downstream part in the conveying direction with respect to the central position, of the coin C can be prevented from floating up on the sorting hole 10, and the coin C can be surely dropped into the corresponding sorting hole 10.
