The coin-type IC tag includes sintered discs 1 serving as a first and a second protective member made of ceramics and forming a coin shape when laminated together, and an IC module 8 having an IC 3 and an antenna 4 connected to each other by a connecting wire 7, the IC module 8 clamped on either side by the approximately disc-shaped protective members 5, the IC 3 having the function of communicating data to an external reader. The sintered disc 1 has recesses in the center of one side thereof. The IC modules 8 are disposed in the recesses and the sintered discs 1 are laminated together to house the IC modules 8 in the sintered discs 1.
