Title:
COIN USING 2 KINDS OF METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08205912
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily assemble and produce a coin by one punching process, by using a ring and an insert whose one side is provided with a connection means and plastically deforming one of these raw materials of the space between the elements by the connection means to crimp both materials. CONSTITUTION: An inside wall 16 of a ring 12 is made flat and vertical, and an insert 10 is formed to have a circular disk cut out. The insert 10 is provided with a groove 20 at the peripheral edge in order to improve a mechanical connection between the insert 10 and the ring 12. The groove is formed continuously or in continuously. When both materials are mechanically connected by the plastic deformation of the raw material of the outside ring 12 of the groove 20, the discontinuous groove works as a preventive effect against the rotation between the ring 12 and the insert 10. And this coin is finally produced by stamping. In this case, the diameter of the insert can be adjusted very accurately. A coin with a regular surface can be easily obtained in a little plastic deformation.
