Abstract:
To provide a method for predicting an average particle size of coke that can estimate at least the average particle size of the coke after impact simulating transportation to a blast furnace without performing a complicated drum test or the like.SOLUTION: An area of a crack surface of the coke is calculated for each of a plurality of cokes of different types, and then a relation between an area of the crack surface of each coke and the average particle size of the coke after receiving an impact simulating transport to the blast furnace measured for each coke is obtained in advance. The area of the crack surface is calculated about the coke obtained by carbonization in a test coke oven as coke to be used in the blast furnace, and the average particle size of cokes after being impacted is predicted from the above-mentioned relation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
