Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a freezing capability of a cold accumulator and provide a light weight compact-sized cold heat accumulator.
SOLUTION: Balls 34 of holmium steel (HoCu2) having a higher specific heat than that of erbium 3 nickel (Er3Ni) are filled in a final layer 33c showing 10°K or less in a second displacer 33. In addition, balls 35 of erbium 3 nickel (Er3Ni), erbium cobalt (Er3Co) or neodymium (Nd) are filled in an intermediate layer 33d with 10 to 15°K. Further, balls 36 of lead (Pb) are filled in an initial layer 33e with 15°K or more. In this way, some cold accumulating materials showing the highest specific heat in response to each of temperature regions of 10°K or less, 10 to 15°K and 15°K or more, respectively are filled to increase a freezing capability of the second displacer 33 more than that of filling balls of erbium 3 nickel (Er3Ni) in the final layer as found in the prior art. Subsequent to this operation, the second displacer 33 is made light in weight and compact in size.
