The cold cathode device has the pole-shaped cold cathode 4, an electron drawing-out electrode 5 arranged against the cold cathode 4 so as to have an electron emitted from the cold cathode 4 by preparing a designated potential difference between the cold cathode 4 and the electron drawing-out electrode 5, and a retaining member 2 for retaining the electron drawing-out electrode 5 as well as one end of the pole-shaped cold cathode 4 so as to retain a fixed position relationship between the pole-shaped cold cathode 4 and electron drawing-out electrode 5.
