Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a cold cathode discharge lamp, which presents good easiness in works with it, which generates less cracks and leaks, with which an electrode mount can be attached and sealed using a simple structure.
CONSTITUTION: A sealing attachment metal 3 having a coefficient of thermal expansion near that of a glass bulb 1 is attached sealdedly to the end of the bulb, and an electrode 6 is connected with the sealing attachment metal. Because this metal can be attached for sealing only by heating and softening the bulb and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the metal is near that of the bulb, generation of cracks and leaks are prevented without generating thermal distortion in the bulb.
