Abstract:

To provide a structure allowing the formation of a thin-film transistor on a support board for imparting a current-limiter to an electron source array comprising fine particles of an electron emission material and to provide a cold-cathode light source and a thin image formation device capable of X-Y matrix drive.

For this thin image forming device, an electron source array 4, formed with a dispersion system of fine particles of an electron emission material and a binder material, a thin-film transistor 9 and a cathode wiring pattern 2, are disposed in the recessed part of a support board, and a convergence electrode 18 is disposed on a projecting part of the support board. The electron source array 4, the thin-film transistor 9 and the cathode wiring pattern 2 are disposed vertically with respect to the support board.
