Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold crucible melting furnace that can be operated without any trouble even if metal to be molten comprising specific metal of high affinity is molten in respect to metal constituting each of conductive segments.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a cold crucible melting furnace with a furnace main body having storing recesses for storing metal to be molten and an induction heating coil arranged at an outer peripheral side of the furnace main body so as to heat by induction the metal to be molten stored in the storing recesses to make molten metal. The furnace main body comprises a plurality of conductive segments 12, ..., 12 for defining at least a part of the storing recesses. Each of the plurality of conductive segments 12, ..., 12 has cooling water passages 12b and either an outside part or an inside part has a thickness adjustment part X for unifying a distance from the inner surface of the cooling water passage 12b to a surface facing against the storing recess at each of the conductive segments 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
