Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce the subject composition having excellent adhesiveness to untreated steel plates, cold-drying property, etc., and keeping excellent rust- proofing performance over a long period by using a resin modified with an unsaturated fatty acid as an epoxy resin and using an aminosilane compound and plural kinds of rust-proofing pigments as essential components.
CONSTITUTION: This coating composition contains (A) an epoxy resin modified with an unsaturated fatty acid and having a weight-average molecular weight of 5,000-100,000, (B) 0.1-3wt.% of an aminosilane compound (e.g. 3- aminopropyltrimethoxysilane), (C) 1-20wt.% of an aluminum phosphate compound and (D) 1-20wt.% of a zinc molybdate compound. The epoxy resin constituting the component A is e.g. a bisphenol A glycidyl-type epoxy resin and the fatty acid for modifying the resin is preferably a drying oil having an iodine value of ≥130 such as soybean oil. The component C is e.g. a mixture of 100 pts.wt. of sodium dihydrogen tripolyphosphate and 5-30 pts.wt. of silicon dioxide and/or zinc oxide.
