Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold forged connecting rod and a manufacturing method thereof formed by cold forging using a cold forging steel capable of allowing a defect in case of manufacturing by conventional hot forging to be solved and being more excellent in cold forgeability and strength than conventional cold forging steels with small influence of working strain on the strength.
SOLUTION: This cold forged connecting rod is formed by cold forging of steel containing following component as percentage by weight; C: 0.05-0.15%, Si: 0.05-0.35%, Mn: 0.20-0.50%, Cu: 1.0-2.0%, Ni: 0.5-1.5%, and Cr: 0.10-0.40%; and also containing one, or two or more of following component; S: 0.005-0.100%, Pb: 0.05-0.35%, Bi: 0.03-0.15%, Te: 0.03-0.2%, and Ca: 0.0010-0.0030%; and the rest of the steel is composed of Fe and unavoidable impurities.
