Abstract:

To provide a cold forming tap which is improved in strength at its convex portion and prevented from being chipped.

According to the structure of the cold forming tap, a roll off 7 on a rear side of a convex margin 5 of the tap is made smaller in radial variation than a heaped-up portion 6 on a front side of the convex margin 5, and therefore a portion of the tap, which bears heaping-up torque on the rear side of the margin is enlarged, to thereby improve the strength of the convex portion and prevent the tap from being chipped.
