PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold insulating container with which an external surface of the container can be prevented from getting contaminated by drained water, the open air can be prevented from entering the inside of the container by a water sealing means and in addition contents in the container can be prevented from soaking in water.
SOLUTION: The cold insulating container receives contents in the container 10 together with ice, thereby cooling the contents with the ice. A water reservoir 12 is formed on a bottom 11, and a draining hole 13 extending downwardly through from an upper end surface of a sidewall 14 is formed. In addition, a conduit channel 15 communicating with the water reservoir 12 and the draining hole 13 is formed in the vicinity of the bottom of the container. The channel 15 is so formed that an uppermost end 16a of an inlet 16 located on the water reservoir 12 side is lower than a lowermost end 17a of an outlet 17 located on the draining hole 13 side, thereby allowing the draining hole 13 and the inside of the container to be water-sealed. The method and the apparatus for manufacturing the cold insulating container are characterized by a pipe 60 for forming the draining hole 13 and such formation that the conduit channel 15 is made to communicate with the draining hole 13 by the coming in/out of a molding core 90 combined with the pipe 60.
