Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus and a method for installing an optical device, an apparatus for adjusting the angular position of an optical device and/or a laser beam essentially without linear displacement, and to fix the optical device at the adjusted position practically without movement in any direction.
SOLUTION: The apparatus contains a ball 12 with outer sides, supports 14 which are in physical contact with the outer sides of the ball 12 in the manner that the angular displacement of the ball 12 is possible essentially without linear displacement, and a clamp 18 capable of providing a force to the supports through the ball 12 practically without a transfer torque to the ball 12. This ball 12 is the essential part of the apparatus and a method for installing an optical device.
