To provide a cold preserving container capable of efficiently storing and cooling agricultural products such as slender vegetables and fruits preferably stored or transported in an upright condition such as asparagus, and suppressing a degradation of freshness by excellently maintaining the cooling state of the stored agricultural products and the like, and a cold preserving method using the same.

The cold preserving container 1 comprises a container body 2 and a lid 3 which are formed of synthetic resin foam, and is served for storage or transport of agricultural products by changing the posture so that one side wall 6 of the container body 2 is downside after storing agricultural products or the like while an opening of the container body 1 is directed upwardly, and closing them by the lid 3. A ventilation opening 11 is formed in a side wall 4 adjacent to the side wall 6 which is downside during the storage or transport, and the cold preserving container has a door 12 which slides in the horizontal direction at the posture during the storage or transport to open/close the opening 11 for ventilation while it is mounted on the container body 2.
