To solve problems in a storage-type heat exchanger using a heat storage material, that it is difficult to obtain a stable heat exchanging quantity for a long time as the quantity of ice is reduced with a lapse of an air cooling time and the heat exchanging quantity is gradually lowered, though an effective (or excessive) heat exchanging quantity can be obtained by the melting of ice around a heat transfer tube in the start of air cooling, and that unbalance in an ice melting state is found as ice near the heat transfer tube on a refrigerant inlet-side of an air cooling circuit easily melts, but ice far from the heat transfer tube on a refrigerant outlet side of the air cooling circuit hardly melts for the sake of a structure.
A refrigerant flowing direction switching means for alternately switching flow-in and flow-out directions of the refrigerant flowing in the storage-type heat exchanger 2 by every prescribed time is mounted to a refrigerant circuit R connecting the storage-type heat exchanger 2 and a use-side heat exchanger 5 through a refrigerant pump P, and the flow-in and flow-out directions of the refrigerant are switched and controlled by the refrigerant flowing direction switching means, thus the distribution of ice water and a distribution of the temperature of a heat exchanging portion of the storage-type heat exchanger 2 can be equalized as much as possible, and the stable heat exchanging quantity can be obtained for a specific time or longer.
