PURPOSE: To enable efficient cold rolling by executing cold rolling while jetting rolling oil whose temp. is controlled with a heat exchanger which is provided near by spray nozzles from the rolling oil spray nozzles which are provided near the biting entrance of rolling rolls to a rolled stock just before rolling.
CONSTITUTION: The heat exchanger 4 is provided near by the rolling oil spray nozzles 3 which are provided in the vicinity of the rolling rolls 1, the temp. of the rolling oil is controlled just before the spray nozzles 3 and, when troubles due to biting property and excessive lubrication of a strip or the like in rolling are feared, lubricity is suppressed by raising the temp. of the rolling oil. When a large rolling reduction is necessary, the lubricity is promoted by lowering the temp. of the rolling. oil. In this way, by controlling the temp. of the rolling oil, proper lubricated state is kept, the freedom of productivity is extended and the load of a rolling mill is leveled. And rolling conditions are not restricted and it contributes to the improvement of productivity.
