To provide a rolling oil composition which allows the emulsion to be stable, which has uniform adherability, which shows the effect of reducing the basic unit of the rolling oil while enhancing the efficiency of adherence, which excels in the sheet surface cleansing property, which causes little fouling around a rolling mill, and which can endure severe rolling conditions.
The cold-rolling oil composition for ultrathin steel sheets contains (a) 100 pts.wt. of at least one base oil selected from the group consisting of mineral oils, animal and plant oils/fats and synthetic esters, (b) 0.1-5 pts.wt. of a nonionic surfactant having an 8-18 HLB, (c) 0.1-20 pts.wt. of an ethylene oxide addition product of a secondary alcohol, and (d) 0.2-5 pts.wt. of a polymeric nonionic surfactant represented by formula (1): R-O-(AO)p-(BO)q-(AO)r-R (1) (wherein R indicates an acyl group of the dimer to hexamer of an 18C hydroxy carboxylic acid; A indicates an ethylene group; B indicates a propylene group; p+r is 5-200; and q is an integer of 0-70).
