Title:
COLD SLURRY FOR CASTING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000044310
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a slurry capable of providing a formed article having properties the same as or near to the properties of a ceramic wear obtained by firing, without heating, and excellent in demolding properties by compounding an emulsion containing a specific amount of mixed acrylic and urethane resins having specified mixing ratio, with an elutriation-treated hydrous rock powder clay composition in a specific amount.

This slurry is obtained by blending 1 pt.wt. emulsion containing 3-20 wt.% mixed resin of an acrylic resin and a urethane resin in a mixed ratio of (16:1)-(110:1), with 1-1.8 pts.wt. elutriation-treated hydrous rock powder clay composition. The hydrous rock powder clay composition is obtained by using a plastic clayey fine powder as a vehicle capable of enabling the composition to be compacted into any shape, and further using the rock powder as an aggregate capable of imparting strength and enabling the composition to keep the shape stably. Fine power of kaolin, montmorillonite, bentonite or the like is cited as the plastic clay, and silica, quartz, feldspar, pumice, pozzuolana, pottery stone, buhlstone or the like is cited as the rock powder.
