Abstract:
To improve the reliability of a fuel injection pump by checking failure of a CSD without influencing a fuel injection amount.
The fuel injection pump 1 is installed on a diesel engine having a self starter motor 63 that is activated by a key switch 61. The fuel injection pump 1 includes a cold timing advance mechanism 30 that is operated by an advancing actuator 38, the self starter motor 63 and the advancing actuator 38. In the fuel injection pump 1, there provided is a failure checking means that activates the advancing actuator 38 every time the key switch 61 is turned on.
