Title:
COLD WALL INDUCTION SMELTING CRUSIBLE FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3287031
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the structure of a cold wall induction smelting crusible furnace, which is capable of reducing the throwing amount of electric power and stabilizing molten metal.
CONSTITUTION: A L-shaped unit segment is formed by a method wherein neighboring two pieces 13a, 13b of a plurality of tablet type segments 13 are combined so as to be one set and the inflow passage 15a of cooling water is provided in one segment while the outflow passage 15b of the cooling water is provided in the other segment and both segments are connected at the upper parts thereof to short-circuit them electrically and obtain the unit segment consisting of vertical legs as a whole which are separated by a slit 14a below the part of the short-circuit part and feet 13d, 13e extending radially from the legs. A hearth is constituted of a base unit 17 having projected type section and a projection 17a at the center of the base unit 17 is inserted into the side wall of the legs, which is defined by the unit segments 13, to obtain the hearth while the peripheral part of the projection is formed so as to be a flange 17d and a predetermined number of unit segments 13 are mounted on the flange 17d to fix them through an insulating member 18.
