To provide collagen extracted from skin of "Takifugu rubripes" which is simply obtainable and can be easily utilized at home, and its manufacturing method.

The collagen is extracted from powdery or granular baloonfish skin, which is obtained by cutting baloonfish skin into pieces after removing "spines" thereof, boiling the baloonfish skin, subsequently immersing it in cold water to turn it gelatin-like, drying it and grinding it. The baloonfish skin is featured in that skin of "Takifugu rubripes" is used. The manufacturing method thereof comprises a step for removing "spines" from baloonfish skin and subsequently getting it through hot water, a step for putting the baloonfish skin, having got through hot water, in cold water thereby cooling it and subsequently cutting it into pieces, a step for boiling the cut baloonfish skin and subsequently immersing it in cold water to turn it gelatin-like, a step for washing the gelatin-like baloonfish skin with water and keeping it immersed in water in a refrigerator one night, and a step for drying the baloonfish skin kept overnight with hot air by means of an automatic drier, and subsequently grinding to a powder or a granule.
