Abstract:
To improve roundness of the inner peripheral surface of a workpiece after machining.
A plurality of grip claws 5 opened/closed by the actuation of a diaphragm 4 are used to grip a collar-like workpiece W from its outer peripheral surface side for centering with an outer diameter as a reference. A presser claw 6 driven separately from the diaphragm 4 is used to press the collar-like workpiece W to a workpiece support face 3a of a chuck from its axial direction to fix the workpiece W. After rough-machining the workpiece W in this state, grip force of the grip claws 5 is released to further continue machining.
